Drake Bell Addresses Guilty Plea in Minor Case
Drake Bell, the former Nickelodeon star known for his role in "Drake & Josh," recently shared a video on social media discussing his guilty plea related to a case involving a minor. In the video, he refuted various rumors, including claims about relocating to Mexico or changing his name, stating, "Most of the news you've heard recently is entirely false and wrong."
Following a lengthy investigation, Bell pleaded guilty to attempted child endangerment and disseminating harmful material to juveniles, resulting in a two-year probation sentence from a Cuyahoga County judge. The case stemmed from inappropriate text exchanges with a 15-year-old girl he met online after she attended one of his concerts in Cleveland.
Bell acknowledged his mistakes, asserting that he was unaware of the girl's age when he initially communicated with her. He emphasized that he did not send any explicit images or engage in physical contact, ceasing communication upon learning her age. The now 19-year-old victim described Bell's messages as "blatantly sexual" during the sentencing. Bell expressed his desire to move forward and focus on his music career.
